Privacy policy
AeroMedQBank is an unofficial study tool for residents preparing for aerospace, occupational and preventive medicine board exams. It is run by an individual physician, not by the U.S. Army, the Department of Defense, or any medical board. This page explains what information the app handles. The app is at aeromedqbank.com.
Two ways the app can run
Without accounts (demo mode). Everything stays in your web browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to the developer. Your progress, flags and notes live in your browser's storage.
With accounts. You sign in with an email address and password. The information below is then stored in an online database so your progress follows you between devices. Accounts are made either by you on the sign-in page, when sign-up is open, or by an administrator, who can create an account for you with a temporary password. When sign-up is open, an account you create yourself gets free access straight away. When it is closed, an account can use the question bank only after an administrator has approved its email address.
What is collected when you have an account
- Your email address, used to sign you in and to send password-reset emails. Those emails are the only emails the app sends. Messages and replies in the app never go by email.
- Your password. It is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form by the sign-in service. The developer cannot read it.
- Your access level: whether you are approved, your plan, and whether you are a reviewer, faculty member or administrator. An administrator may add a short note about you, such as your name, to help manage accounts.
- Your residency program, if you choose one: which program, and whether its faculty have approved your request. Choosing a program is optional.
- Your study activity: each question you answer (which question, which answer you picked, whether you got it right, and when), your finished tests, the questions you flagged, the private notes you write on questions, and any messages you send to the team, whether about a question or to Support, along with the team's replies (with the question it is about, if any, and when each was sent).
- Figures worked out from your activity, such as your accuracy by subject, the topics you miss most (used to suggest lessons), and the level shown on your dashboard. These are calculated from your answers and are not shared with anyone beyond the access described below.
- Your settings, such as light or dark theme.
- When you were last active.
The app does not collect your location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers. It does not use advertising, analytics, or tracking tools.
Who can see it
- You can see all of your own information.
- Administrators and reviewers read the messages you send about questions or to Support, and reply to them in an inbox. Replies appear inside the app and no email is sent. Only administrators can see who sent a message; reviewers see the message and the conversation but not who you are. The messages are kept with your account so you can see the conversation, and administrators can see your email next to them. Do not put anything in a message that you would not want the administrators to read.
- Administrators can see, in the app, a summary for each member: email address, access level, how many questions each person has answered, the percentage answered correctly, and when they were last active. They can also see how each question performs across the whole group. They can also create or remove accounts, reset passwords, change access levels, and approve or remove people in programs. They cannot read your notes or your individual answers in the app.
- The person who runs the database has technical access to everything stored, including notes and individual answers, through the database tools. That access is used to run the service, fix problems and review overall results. Notes are private within the app but are not hidden from the database owner.
- Program faculty, only if you choose to join a residency program and its faculty approve you. They can see how many questions you have answered, your percent correct by subject, and when you were last active. They cannot see which answers you chose, your notes, your flags or your test history. Faculty see nothing about you until they approve your request, and you can leave the program at any time in Settings, which ends their access.
- Other members cannot see your information. Group averages, and the share of members who picked each answer choice, are combined figures shown only when enough members have answered a question that no individual can be identified.

Information stored on your device
So the app works without a connection, it keeps a copy of your questions, lessons and progress in your browser's storage. If you answer questions or send a message while offline, it waits on your device and is sent when you are back online. Signing out removes these copies from the device. On a shared or borrowed device, sign out when you finish.
Please do not enter patient information
This app is not designed for protected health information or any patient-identifying details. Do not put such information in notes, feedback or anywhere else in the app. All patients in the practice questions are invented.
Keeping and deleting your information
Your information is kept while your account is active. In Settings, Reset all progress deletes your answers, tests, flags and notes. To delete your account and everything stored about you, or to ask what is stored, contact the address below and it will be done. Deleting an account also erases its answers, flags, notes, test history and messages. If an administrator removes your access without deleting your account, your history is kept but you can no longer sign in to the question bank.
Security
Connections to the app and the database are encrypted. Access to your data is restricted by rules in the database so that members can only reach their own records. No online service can promise perfect security, so use a password you do not use elsewhere.
Who this is for
The app is intended for adult medical professionals and trainees. It is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the effective date above will change and members will be told. Changes are limited to what the app actually does; it does not sell your information or share it for advertising.
